Week 7 (Final Tragic Creation/Essay)

This week I turned in my final tragic creation. My final creation consisted of the twin towers being targeted by terrorist as well as the american flag. I feel this was a nice piece because it tied in well with my  essay. Along with this we completed our second in class essay, which was based on a book I read outside of class. The book I wrote mine on was the secret life of bees.

Tragic Creation

For my tragic creation, I have been going back and forth between a digital enhanced photo of 9/11 or either painting a picture of 9/11. The picture that I duplicate will be on selected off of the internet. Along with this I plan to write a small description on my reason for choosing my creation idea. I chose this idea to base my creation on because it is a prime example of a tragedy. Along with this, it ties into my tragedy paper.

Week 5 (Tragedy Essay)

Although tragic flaws can lead to increases of self-awareness and self-knowledge, Joseph Wood Krutch's philosophy of tragedy stricken people being happy with the end result is something I disagree with. This is because from every tragic situation, a positive ending does not come to life. For example, take the death of a loved one. The emotions of grief will remain with those who loved him. This can also be represented but the loss of an extremely important piece of jewelry or family arluene, which is something that can never be replaced. “Logic is the art of going wrong with confidence.”It is a normal thing that everyone face a tragedy through their life, however it can sometimes continue to an even worse situation and never get better. Thus proving the idea of Joseph Krutch has many holes within it.
